Curriculum and Evaluation

The academic authority constituted by the Maharashtra State Government, is to formulate the curriculum and evaluation procedures and take into consideration the following:
• “Conformity with the values enshrined in the Constitution
• All-round development of the child, building up child’s knowledge, potentiality and talent
• Development of physical and mental abilities to the fullest extent
• Learning through activities, discovery and exploration in a child-friendly and child-centered manner
• The medium of instruction shall, as far as practicable, be in the child’s mother tongue, making the child free of fear, trauma and anxiety and helping the child to express views freely
• Comprehensive and continuous evaluation of child’s understanding of knowledge and his or her ability to apply the same

Children are to be awarded certificates at the end of completing elementary education. According to the Maharashtra Rules, this certificate should contain the cumulative record of the pupil, certify that all courses of study have been completed with laid down learning levels, and specify achievements in areas and activities beyond the specified courses of study. Students are not required to pass any board examinations till completion of elementary education.
